Bennie
Mays
April 19, 1944 – September 19, 2022
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. he restores my soul. He guides me in
paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they
comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You
anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow
me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalms 23
We are saddened to announce that Bennie Mays Jr. passed away at his home in Jacksonville, AR
on September 19, 2022. He was 78 years old at the time of his passing. He was born on April
19, 1944 in Lonoke, AR. He began working at Maybelline/Loreal Incorporated in North Little
Rock, AR on July 29, 1975 and retired after 33 years of loyal service on May 1, 2008. He was a
dedicated professional and never missed a day of work during his entire tenure with
Maybelline/L'oreal Incorporated. The company gifted him a new car on his retirement date for
his loyal service. A funny example of his dedication and his no-nonsense approach to work is
when his children began working at Maybelline/Loreal. He treated them just like regular
employees, asking them on several occasions, "Shouldn't you being doing something."
He was preceded in death by beloved father, Bennie R. Mays Sr., mother, Rebecca Geans Mays,
brothers, Henry Lee Mays, Jerry Lee Mays, Willie Mays and sister, Eloise Dodson.
He is survived by his daughters Kristie Mays Donald (Dan) and Sharenda Warren (Lorenzo), his
sons Tony Smith and Antujuan Terry, his brothers, Marvin Mays, Author Mays, Bennie Lee
Mays, David Lee Mays, George Lee Mays, his sisters, Bonnie J Mays, Lucille Mays, Mary A.
Robinson, Joann McCoy, Joyce R. Taylor, Betty A. Canon, Denise A. Israel, his grandchildren,
Julian Molina, Jmeia Williams, Cortez Jordan, Aleyah Donald, Marla Duke and his great
grandchildren, Omari Williams, Amir Williams, Aubrey Duke, Aria Thomas. He will be sadly
missed and will always hold a place in our hearts
