July 9, 1950 – December 5, 2020
Opal Dexter was born on July 9, 1950 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to the late Herbert Stivers and Cleo Oguin-Stivers. She married the love of her life Thomas Paul Dexter and to this union four daughters were born. Opal lived a very peaceful life, she was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, taking pride in keeping a garden and babysitting her grandchildren and other children as well.
In the morning of Saturday, December 5, 2020, our Heavenly Father reached down into his winter garden a picked a beautiful rose, Opal Dexter,
whose aroma will be missed by those who remain.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Thomas, three brothers: Melvin Joe, Benny and Herbert Stivers, two sisters; Della Manning and Iva Carrington.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters; Donna (Dale) Carothers of Lonoke, Susan Lenartowick of Carlisle, Tammy (Calvin) McWhorter of Hazen and Tracy Dexter of Lonoke, two brothers; Tommy Stivers of Pine Bluff, Hubert Stivers of Crossett, three sisters; Linda K. Blocker of Whitehall, Martha Knott of Beebe, Sue Joyce of Lonoke, ten grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
