Stephen Austin
Gomillion
December 2, 1954 – January 23, 2024
Stephen Austin Gomillion was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on December 2, 1954, to the Late Samuel David Gomillion and Julia Mae (Shutes) Gomilliion. On January 23, 2024, our heavenly father decided that Stephen had finished his race, and it was time to start his Heavenly Journey. Stephen accepted Christ at a very early age. He attended the First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church as a young child and later became a member of St. Mark Baptist Church and he remained a member of this church until he was called to his heavenly home.
He joined the military (United States Marine Corps) at the early age of seventeen upon completing high school from Little Rock Central High School and completed twenty-five years of serving his country. Upon retiring from the military, he was employed by the Little Rock Housing Authority, United Postal Service, Arkansas Department of Correction and later became the Owner/ Operator of Steve's Catfish in Eldorado, Arkansas.
Stephen spent his years enjoying the things he loved "hunting, traveling, fishing, and making people smile, but most of all making memories by spending time with his family and friends.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann McKinney Gomillion on October 18, 1974. To this union, there were two children born: A daughter, Marty Nicole Gomillion-Mayfield (Michael), Alexander, AR, and a son, Samuel David Gomillion (Yolanda) Little Rock, AR, and Daughter, Helen Denise Gomillion, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Ann McKinney Gomillion, his brothers Samuel, Harvey, and Timothy Gomillion, and his sister Deborah Gomillion-Florence.
He leaves to cherish, his children Marty, Samuel, and Helen, grandchildren, Lance, Stephanie, Michael, Mark, Shanice, Dovate, and Stephen. Sister, Renay Davis of Little Rock, AR; Brother, Terry Gomillion Sr. of Little Rock, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
