Life Journey

Yvonne Lea Gates, 70, of Carlisle, Arkansas, peacefully transitioned from this life surrounded by the love of her family on February 28, 2026.

She was born on January 13, 1956, to Shirley Walters and Olen Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Eddie Gates, who also preceded her in death. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and community.

A lifelong resident of Carlisle, Yvonne was a familiar and cherished presence throughout the community. She possessed a kind and welcoming spirit, never meeting a stranger and always offering a warm smile or encouraging word. Her gentle nature and caring heart left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted son, Don (Kimberly) Gates of Carlisle, Arkansas; her loving sister, Jackie Johnson of Carlisle, Arkansas; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though she has departed from this earthly life, the love she shared and the kindness she extended will continue to live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply and sincerely missed.
